How much does the tour cost?

There is no set price for the tour. We ask you to come along, enjoy yourselves, and think about what the tour was worth to you at the end. Guides receive no salary of any kind other than what they receive from participants.

I use a scooter/wheelchair to get around. can I still join the tour?

Yes, everywhere we go will be wheelchair accessible.

Where does the tour start and end?

When you book your tour, you’ll be redirected to a page that tells you where the tour starts and ends. You’ll also be emailed this information. We do this so we can limit the amount of people on each tour.

Will the tour be cancelled in the case of bad weather?

The tour will continue as planned in the case of rain. If the weather is more severe, you’ll receive an email notification at least 2 hours prior to the start of the tour if it is cancelled.

How long is the tour?

The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are allowed on the normal walking tour. If weather is bad and we do the indoor version of the tour, you will not be able to bring pets into the buildings we enter.

Are there any bathroom breaks?

To make sure we fit in as much touring as possible in a reasonable amount of time, there are no bathroom breaks. But there are publicly available bathrooms near the starting and ending locations of the tour.

How will I recognize the tour guide?

He/she will be wearing an orange Free Pittsburgh Walking Tours t-shirt.

Where is the best place to park before the tour?

When you book your tour, you’ll be redirected to a page that tells you about the parking situation. You’ll also be emailed this information.

Do guides accept credit/debit card payments?

Yes, they accept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Venmo and cash.

Is the tour suitable for children?

We regularly have kids on our walking tours and most of them seem to have a great time listening about Pittsburgh’s history.
